Jeff Attinella RGK Brand Ambassador
Jeff Attinella is a retired professional soccer goalkeeper who spent eleven years playing professionally. Born on September 29, 1988 in Clearwater, Florida, Attinella began his professional career in 2011 with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League (NASL) before joining Real Salt Lake of MLS in 2013. He spent four seasons with Real Salt Lake before moving to the Portland Timbers in 2017 and retiring due to injury in 2021.
In his career Attinella was a part of three Western Conference Championship teams, reached the MLS Cup Final three times and was named Goalkeeper of the year for his efforts on the NASL Champion Tampa Bay Rowdies in 2012.
Known for his quick reflexes and strong shot-stopping ability, Attinella was considered to be one of the top goalkeepers in MLS. He has been named to the MLS Team of the Week multiple times and was a finalist for the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2018.
Off the field, Attinella is a family man and is married to his wife, Kendall. He has two children and is active in charitable work and community service
Despite his success on the field, Attinella maintains a humble and down-to-earth personality. He was known to be a hardworking and dedicated player, who took his role as a role model and leader on and off the field very seriously. He is also a strong supporter of the youth soccer programs, encouraging young players to work hard and follow their dreams.
Attinella’s journey to the top of the soccer world has been one of hard work, dedication and perseverance. Upon retiring Jeff founded the Tampa Bay Goalkeeper Academy and has served as a match evaluator and talent scout for MLS Next.
