Once we’ve all loosened up a bit we dig into the journey that led Michelle to our brand. At Renegade GK we enjoy getting to know our team members, the challenges they’ve faced, the obstacles they’ve overcome. To be an RGK Pro is more than just what you do on the pitch under the bright lights. What sets RGK Pro’s apart from the crowd is what they do in silence, the relentless pursuit of perfection.
Q: Why did you want to be sponsored by Renegade GK?
A: I wanted to be sponsored by Renegade GK because of the quality of the gloves, and the genuine care they have for their consumers and sponsored athletes. I was also excited at the idea of introducing the glove to the women’s professional game in America. I’m really proud to represent the company.
Q: Give us a bit of background around your playing history.
A: I started playing for Fortuna Hjorring in 2014. Transferred to Sydney FC in 2015. Played for Valerenga FC in 2017 while playing for the Portland Thorns from 2014 - 2017. I am currently playing for Reign FC which was also my previous team last 2013.
Q: What are your dreams as a goalkeeper?
A: I dream to be part of the NWSL Championship. My goal would be to inspire the next generation.
Q: What’s one thing about goalkeeping you wish you knew when you started?
A: How important it is to develop every facet of the position.
Q: Let’s get vulnerable, don’t worry we won’t share this with next Saturday’s opponent. One thing you struggle with in goal today?
A: Striving for Perfection!
Q: Describe the best save you’ve ever made?
A: I once came across a video of Lloris Making a save on a ball bending back post. He sets, crosses over and then flies to save the ball with his top hand. I watched that save over and over and after 2 years of consistently watching the clip, I made a very similar save in a game in Portland.
As we wrap up with Michelle, please join us in welcoming her to the team! Don’t forget, for more information, or to keep up with all your RGK Pros, we will be posting regular updates and highlights pitchside as we follow Michelle and all our Pros this season!
